The Story of Fred & Irene Central Park Lodge Queens Drive, Toronto, ON
Retirement to Central Park Lodge brought Irene Wright, the Teacher, and Fred Forrest the Banker, together. Both in their eighties, both alone, they found themselves spending time together. The companionship grew and over time sparks were flying. They have similar tastes in music, theatre, literature, and lifestyle, a love of countryside, and nature.
"Fred has a great sense of humour" says Irene, "and we laugh a lot." Smiles are contagious and companionship is precious. They enjoy the wide variety of activities, good meals they don't have to prepare and the privacy they have in their apartments. Both drive, and are very active in their local churches. Irene and Fred will be married in June.
"Age is a state of mind," they say, and quoted Plutarch the philosopher who wrote, "The whole life of man is but a point of time, enjoy it therefore while it lasts, but do not spend it to no purpose."
